Round Table Lodge’s Charity Christmas Tree

St Edburg’s Church, Bicester staged their annual Christmas Tree Festival, this year under the banner of ‘Festival of Light and Hope’ from 18th to 21st December. The Round Table Lodge of Oxfordshire No. 9509 once again participated.

Normally individuals, clubs and organisation are invited to buy a Christmas Tree, which the church has erected in the nave, and decorate it including lights. Then the public are charged a fee to come and see the magnificent Christmas Display.

Usually the event has 120 trees and 4500 visitors, but, due to the Covid restrictions, only 63 trees were allowed and only 1550 visitors could be accommodated.

The event is usually a fund raiser for the church, but it was felt that this year it would nice for the church to reach out to the locals with free public entry to help lighten the mood of the Covid restrictions.
