Dear Brethren and Companions,
Most of you will have read the UGLE First Rising with the announcement of some new Emergency measures, mainly that our Lodges and Chapters can under certain conditions suspend meetings for up to 3 months or make use of telephone/video conferencing for the purpose of carrying out a certain votes during a ‘live’ meeting.
For your guidance, we attached the Note about the Emergency Measures as well as the Guide to them in the emails sent out.
As a number of our members are not on email, we would ask you to ensure that printed versions of these two publications are posted to them, particularly if you wish to apply such a suspension or to utilise telephone/video conferencing during a ‘live’ meeting. This is to make sure that these Brethren and Companions have the same opportunity to voice their opinions and cast votes as those that have electronic access to them.
Both the Prov. G. Sec and Prov. G. S. E. would expect you to discuss such a suspension and the practicalities with them before you embark on taken the required votes. They are also both very happy to discuss any aspect of these measures with you.
The Province will of course continue to support Lodges and Chapters that wish to meet, especially as the current restrictions start to loosen, as we all hope they will in the not too distant future. In the meantime, please pass my best wishes to all your members.
